Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 2026

The Life of the Party™ is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities, including customers with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive conditions. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards to our website.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

Current status: Partial conformance. We completed a comprehensive accessibility audit and remediation of our website in June 2026. Some content may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and we are continuing to monitor and improve.

What We Fixed in June 2026

The following issues were identified during our June 2026 accessibility audit and have been resolved:

Issue What we did
Low-contrast placeholder text in form fields Overrode browser default opacity on all placeholder text to meet 4.5:1 contrast ratio
Search toggle missing accessible state Added aria-expanded to search toggle buttons so screen readers announce open/closed state
Account icon had no accessible label Replaced icon-only fallback with a labeled link including visually-hidden text
Sold-out buttons not communicated to assistive technology Added aria-disabled to sold-out product buttons
Animated elements lacked motion preference support Added prefers-reduced-motion CSS to suppress decorative transitions for users who prefer reduced motion
Sticky add-to-cart icons had no accessible name Added aria-label to icon-only add-to-cart links in the sticky panel
Navigation menus not fully keyboard accessible Added full keyboard support (Arrow keys, Escape, Tab) to mega menu and site navigation
Skip link did not move focus to main content Fixed skip-to-content link to programmatically focus the main content region
Main content area not reachable by skip link Added tabindex to main content container so it can receive programmatic focus
Cart drawer and quick-buy modals lacked keyboard trap Implemented focus trap so keyboard users cannot navigate outside open modals
Panel close button did not update ARIA state Fixed close button to set aria-expanded and aria-hidden correctly on close
Back-in-stock form label not associated with input Fixed duplicate ID collision between form element and email input
Site header missing landmark role Added role="banner" to the custom header web component
Payment method icons had no text alternative Wrapped each payment icon with role="img" and a descriptive aria-label
Breadcrumb RSS link had a typo in its accessible attribute Corrected arial-label typo to aria-label
Sale price not distinguished from original price for screen readers Added visually-hidden "Sale price:" and "Regular price:" labels to price display
